I’ve been an artist for over 20 years and have a degree in Apparel Design and Fine Art from Seattle Pacific University.
My current artistic passions include expressionistic oil painting and
creating high-vibration jewelry. I love painting portraits and figures in particular, and aim to capture both the visual complexity of the physical subject in addition to their emotional complexity.
For me, good art walks the line between showcasing skill and evoking emotion.
My most recent artistic works seek to explore themes of femininity and female empowerment through a lens of modern expressionism with elements of surrealism. I strive to juxtapose socio-cultural ideas of femininity and female identity found in history, literature, and religion with the experiences of the 21st century woman, often including personal imagery within my work.
My primary medium is oil painting, but I also have experience working in graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, chalk pastel, conté crayon, and watercolor.
I am based in Vancouver, WA, where I live with my husband and three young children, as well as teach art classes on a part-time basis.
