“My whole life I never took the time to get to know me.
Only when I began creating art did I become acquainted.”
-W.S. Cranmore
I believe there is a voice in each of us that goes unheard. That voice is our true self. As I create, I clear my head of noise and clutter and allow that voice to guide the creative process. I tune in to images, memories, and sounds from the subconscious, I listen to the story being told and work to bring it out on to canvas. Through this process of self-connection, I feel my work is an honest representation of who I am.
W.S. Cranmore resides in Milwaukie, OR His works are in collections around the world, including that of musician Elvis Costello. They have shown in galleries, cafes, hotels, and city halls. Have been used for album covers, featured in online and published art magazines, and more. W.S. Cranmore is a former member of the Milwaukie Arts Committee, and Irish language enthusiast, and enjoys time with his family.
“W.S. Cranmore has an amazing sense for composition and color. He presents us with beautifully designed images that are, not only inspiring, but reminiscent of architecture, industrial design, modern day technology, and computer motherboards. With a great awareness of contemporary art, these images display a masterful control, and, are always exceptionally intriguing.” – Lorena Malm, curator at Affinity Art Group, artist.
“I am happy to say that “Our Lady Of The Signal” will now hang on my wall and I will share my day with the work of W.S. Cranmore.” – Elvis Costello, singer/songwriter.
