“Consultation at Black Rocks”
A masked Stranger, bearing the Red Right Hand of Vengeance, approaches a decrepit Oracle who appears to babble into the darkness. The stranger intends to pass by, but the oracle calls out to him by name, commanding him to listen. Upon closer inspection, the stranger recognizes the remnant of cloth on the arm of the mummified ancestor of the Oracle and knows new orders are coming from the Omniscient one. A hummingbird delivers the message. The Stranger offers an egg as token of payment before setting off on this new mission.
“Consultation at Black Rocks” is the third work in The Small Hours series.
