I painted this piece whilst residing in Austin Texas.
I chose the Alamo to paint a story dealing with the impact of architecture on society, as well as the deep seeded ritual aspects of War.
It is ridden with symbols all dancing around the image of Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna.
The snake being one of the oldest, and most wide spread. I specifically used the rattlesnake to embody violence.
The Fox skull in regards to the battle states that when trying to escape tricky situations every problem has a solution.
The Armadillo with the Masonic hat playing the flute is representative of detachment and objectivity.
This passive creature also embodies the conspiracy theory evident throughout histories massacres.
